Map and Compass Fundamentals

Join presenter Laura Friesell for a hands-on experience learning the fundamentals of topographic map reading and using a compass to navigate.
Topics will include how to read, interpret, & navigate a topographic map, how to identify parts of a compass, & how to use a compass in conjunction with a topographic map.

**Participants please note that you must provide your own compass with a base plate - it will not be provided in this class. Also, this course is being offered in conjunction with a Map and Compass Field Session offered Saturday, October 5th. These classes are separate and must be registered for individually.**

Ages 14 and Up.

Cost for this program is $15.00 per member/ $20 per non-member (members must sign in to receive discount) ; program maps, & admission to the park are included. Pre-registration is required as space is limited. Walk in participants will not be admitted.

Please Note: This program requires a minimum number of registered participants to proceed. If we do not reach our required minimum this program will be cancelled & refunds issued to registered participants.
